Born and raised in Newfoundland, I grew up in Green Bay. My family had animals my whole life. From cats, dogs, chickens, turkeys, pigs, cows & horses. Learning to care for different species of animals gave me the want to know more and do more. I moved to Ontario in 2017 to go to technician school, graduated in 2020 and gained my Registered Veterinary Technician status that fall.

From general practice to emergency and ICU work, I gained experience in many areas. While my favorite would be phlebotomy and parasitology, I knew my heart still wanted to be in the barn.

In 2021, I found the perfect property for my horses, the shape of the land, the hay fields, everything, it was perfect. I brought my horses in that following fall, and from there I said, “Why keep this all to myself?”. I decided to open a private boarding facility.

Blueberry Meadow Boarding Facility was created and it is now filled with amazing people who create a wonderful barn family. Every day I go in my barn, I am so thankful for what it is and that I can share it with others.

From there I completed my Equi-Health Canada Instructor Certification to teach our equine community what they are capable of doing for emergencies prior to a Veterinarian coming on the scene. As we know, we are limited on veterinary services for our horses and sometimes it can take a while before a vet can be present. Why not teach horse owners what they can do in the mean time to help their horse and help their vet when they arrive.

Recently, I wondered what else can I share with others to make owning horses on the island easier. After searching for a few of my favorite products, I decided to become a distributor and bring these amazing products from all over the world, to Newfoundland. Accessibility is huge for horse owners in Newfoundland. With Rinse & Rope, I hope to make it easier for horse owners and hope to bring more equine population to the island.
